Biography
Dr. Biswarup Basu serves as a Senior Scientific Officer-II in the Department of Cancer Research and heads the Neuroendocrinology & Experimental Hematology laboratory at the Chittaranjan National Cancer Institute (CNCI). He holds a Ph.D. in Life Sciences & Biotechnology from Jadavpur University and completed postdoctoral training at the National Cancer Institute (NCI/NIH) in Maryland, USA
Research Interests
1. Evaluation of autophagy in regulating breast cancer progression 2. Deciphering genomic markers in diagnosis and prognosis of breast and ovarian tumors 3. Mitigation of ovarian patients’ post chemotherapy neurocognitive dysfunction and neuropathy 4. Theranostic drug delivery across blood brain barrier & targeting of brain tumors 5. Development of AI based tools for pathology and radiology guidance 6. Development of bioinspired material based strategies for surgical wound healing and chemoradiation impaired skin & bone tissue regeneration 7. Identification of microbial-neuroendocrine-immune axis associated with gastrointestinal cancer
